How are tips shared, and who decides how?

Every tronc system has what’s called a “troncmaster”. In the case of SUPERTRONC, that’s us – TiPJAR, or “TJ SuperTronc Ltd. The troncmaster is responsible for many things, but one of the most important is ensuring that any decisions or rules around splitting tips have been made at arm’s length from the business, and that the business aren’t influencing the split of that money.

Every tronc system also has a tronc policy, and each tronc policy differs slightly. You can legally request a copy of your tronc policy from your employer at any time, but we also store it within TiPJAR for you, to make life easy! It lives within the Organisation tab – scroll down to the Tronc Policies section!
